Can I export my receipt data from ReceiptIQ AI?
Short answer: Yes. ReceiptIQ AI exports a CSV with one row per receipt, an items CSV with one row per item (since version 2.4.4) and a PDF report with every receipt photo on its own page, for any period and, optionally, one category. All three are Premium features and work offline.
Try it on your own receipt: one receipt in your browser, no install, no account
The three exports
In the app, go to Settings → Your Data → Data Export. There are three buttons:
1. CSV: one row per receipt
The file opens with a summary block (receipt count, Total Expenses, Total Tax, Total Tips), then one row per receipt with these 12 columns:
ID, Date, Added Date, Description, Category, Amount, Type, Recurrence, Address, Currency, Original Amount, Exchange Rate
- Description is the store. Type is Income or Expense, because the app records income as well as spending.
- A receipt printed in a foreign currency exports with its printed currency, the printed amount and the exchange rate used, next to the converted amount (columns Currency, Original Amount, Exchange Rate).
- A cell that starts with =, + or @ (or a minus that is not a number) is prefixed with an apostrophe, so a spreadsheet does not run it as a formula.
2. Items CSV: one row per item (version 2.4.4 and later)
The button is "Export Items to CSV". Columns:
Receipt ID, Date, Store, Item, Item Category, Receipt Category, Type, Amount (home currency), Printed Currency, Printed Amount, Exchange Rate
- The category filter applies to each item's category. The gluten-free bread on a grocery receipt, the business half of a mixed receipt, or the medical lines of a drugstore receipt can be pulled out on their own.
- For converted receipts the printed currency, printed amount and rate are filled in; a "~" marks an amount derived as an estimate.
- A foreign receipt still waiting for its exchange rate has an empty home amount, never a foreign amount under the home-currency header.
3. PDF report
An expense summary with a per-category breakdown, then a receipts index, then every scanned receipt on its own page as proof. The header shows the period and, if you chose one, the category. The receipt photos appear only if "Keep Receipt Images" is turned on in Settings; photos are stored on the phone.
Choosing what goes in
- Period: the range presets, or a custom start and end date for a quarter, a tax year or any audit window.
- Category: optional, for CSV and PDF; one category at a time.
What you need
- Premium. All exports are Premium features. The first 30 receipts are free, but the exports need a subscription: $1.99 per month or $14.99 per year in the US (Canada C$1.99 and C$19.99; euro countries €1.99 and €17.99; Japan ¥300 and ¥2,500).
- No connection needed. Export works offline.
- Family sharing. One subscription covers up to 4 iPhones, and a family member's iPhone gets Premium from the owner's subscription. Family sync copies receipts between the phones directly; an export covers the receipts that are on the phone you export from.
What it does not do
- The export options are the three above. No direct hand-off to accounting software or to an accountant; you share the file yourself from the iOS share sheet.
- It is not tax advice or tax software; see How do I scan a pile of receipts for taxes on my iPhone?
A worked example
The real Dollarama receipt from the grocery page would appear in the items CSV as five rows (selected columns shown):
| Store | Item | Item Category | Amount |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dollarama | Flan tablecloth | Household Supplies | 4.00 |
| Dollarama | Popcorn | Food & Grocery | 3.50 |
| Dollarama | White bowl | Household Supplies | 1.50 |
| Dollarama | Lighter | Household Supplies | 1.50 |
| Dollarama | GST 5% | Tax | 0.53 |
Filtering the items CSV on Household Supplies gives the three household lines, $7.00. In the normal CSV the same receipt is one row with the amount 11.03.
